Instructions for entering the Initial Learning Plan
If you need help, PLEASE call the office (465-7700)
To login, type in the address: mepp.wingsnw.com
Click on Login and scroll down to the username and password.
Type in your user name and password. (Call the office if you have forgotten your password)
You should now see “Welcome and your user name” in the top left corner. This means you are logged into the program and can explore the software.
Make sure that the school year in the top left corner is "2011". If not, click on the year and update to "2011".
Under FAMILY: Choose student.
Click on your student’s ID that is underlined (this may say “None”).
This brings up your student's learning plan.
Scroll down to: Click on “Add offsite class”
The “Change SLP Information” screen will be visible so you can select your SLP Consultant and Contact Method.
SLP CONSULTANT: This should be your student’s primary teacher or advisor.
CONTACT METHOD: How will your teacher/advisor contact you at various times of the year? Check all the boxes that apply.

ADD OFFSITE COURSE: You can now add all of your offsite courses. You should have, in most instances, 6-9 subjects and each one will be entered separately.
CLASS TITLE:
Type in the name of your course such as Drawing, Horsemanship, PE, English 7, Math 4, Life Science, US History, etc.
SUBJECT: Drop down/pick a subject.
DESCRIPTION BOX:
Type one or more sentence(s) and describe concepts to be studied or activities that your student will participate in for the year.
ELEMENTARY
Option 1 – When using a single curriculum source copy the overview from the curriculum website or the teacher text.
Option 2 – If several curriculum sources are used, write a general overview statement and add goals throughout the year on the monthly review as you adapt to meet the needs of your child.
SECONDARY
Option 1 – Copy the chapter headings for the initial learning plan. Then each month write specific skills that are assessed.
Option 2 – If several curriculum sources are used, write a general overview statement and add goals throughout the year on the monthly review as you adapt to meet the needs of your child.
LEARNING/EALR BOX:
Write learning goals or copy and paste the EALRs/GLEs provided on this link.
METHODS OF EVALUATION BOX:
Which: Which methods will you use to measure learning? (informal observation, discussion, assignments, tests, projects, presentation, performances, record keeping, etc.)
When you have finished typing you need to select one of the three following options:
Box 1 – SAVE DRAFT – This will save your work so you can finish later.
Box 2 – SUBMIT FOR APPROVAL - This will save your work and send it to your SLP consultant/teacher. You can not change your work after you submit.
Box 3 – CANCEL – This will delete your work.
Now you can continue on to your next subject. When all of the subjects have been entered, please be sure to check that each has been submitted and is ready for your SLP Teacher to review.

• In the “pink” area Click on “LOGIN” and scroll down to the username and password. Type in your user name and password. (Call the office if you have misplaced your username or password). You should now see “Welcome and your user name” in the top left corner. This means you are logged into the program and can explore the software.
• In the “pink” area under “FAMILY”, choose student.
• In the “white” area click on your “STUDENT’S ID” that is underlined (this may say “None”).
• In the “white” area scroll down past the green box and click on the link, "Offsite Class Progress". Another window will open so you can click on the month to update. The "Offsite Class Progress" window will now show and you can view all of the classes that you entered on your ILP.
Please enter the 30 day review by finishing the following steps:
Answer the question, "Was satisfactory progress made in this offsite class this month?"
Fill in the “please explain box”
For each subject:
1. What did your student learn or accomplish in this subject during the month? (skills, concepts, knowledge, etc.).
2. How was progress assessed (assignments, tests, projects, etc.) and what levels were achieved? (e.g. 95% accuracy or 5 hours per week)
Here are some examples:
A. Lucy learned how to multiply fractions, find the percent of a number and how to calculate the area of a circle. She used tests, worksheets and completed her work with 95% or greater accuracy.
B. Edmund researched Columbus, wrote a report, charted Columbus’s voyage and took a test. Edmund spent more than 5 hours a week on this and completed his test with 90% or greater accuracy.
C. Susan was active at least 1 hour a day 5 days a week, walking the dog and riding her bike. She monitored her heart rate and kept a time log of her activities.
CAREFULLY answer the question "was this class dropped or completed this month?". If the class is still ongoing, just leave at the default "no, work in this class is still ongoing."
SLP consultant's comments are for teacher's only.
