Skagit Family Learning Center
Confirmation of FTE enrollment 2008-2009
Student Name: ________________________________Grade: _________ Date: ________________
FTE stands for Full Time Equivalent enrollment. This is the term used to define the proportion of full time a student is enrolled for basic education funding. Our school receives funding based each student’s FTE. The FTE is based on the estimated number of hours per week a student will spend to complete the Written Student Learning Plan (WSLP). Please review what is on your child’s WSLP and indicate which of the following matches the desired enrollment for your student.
____My child is currently enrolled as a 1.0 FTE student (full time enrolled).
I understand that my child is enrolled full time. At 1.0 FTE, 1st – 3rd grade students will have 20 hours per week on their WSLP and 4th – 12th grade students will have 25 hours a week on their WSLP. These hours include time spent in class at the learning center and any time away from the center when work is being done to complete the plan. Full time students are required to take the WASL. I also understand that full time full year students receive a $300 stipend to support the WSLP (some exceptions apply). Full time students are eligible to participate in SFLC classes, sports, musical productions, field trips, etc. at no cost.
______My child is currently enrolled part time with __________ hours per week on his/her WSLP. This translates to ______ FTE enrollment.
I understand that my child is enrolled part time. FTE for part time students is based on the estimated number of learning hours per week on the student’s WSLP. Part time students must either be enrolled in another school or be receiving home based instruction for the portion not enrolled at SFLC. Part time students who are also home based must participate in annual assessment as defined in the home based education law (for more information see testing options on WINGS or speak to your WSLP advisor). Part time students who are also home based must file a declaration of intent to provide home based instruction. Part time students will receive a prorated portion of their stipend and may not be able to participate in some classes, field trips, and/or other activities. Reduced services for part time students are simply a reflection of financial limitations resulting from reduced funding.
During the 2008-2009 school year my part time student will take/has taken (circle one): Iowa, Dibbles, Maps, Advisor Assessment, WASL, Other __________________________________________________ .
