Fine Arts plan for grades K-2 (in Home-Link classes on-site)

CLASS TITLE: Fine Arts

SUBJECT: Fine Arts

CLASS DESCRIPTION:

Through Home-Link Art enrichment classes and a variety of art mediums at home, the student will study the following forms of art including, but not limited to: crafts, painting, etc. The student will learn to identify and use basic art skills and techniques throughout the year, as described in the GLEs below. Art projects with paper, clay, paint, and holiday projects will be completed.
If pursuing music study, add:
The student will also learn the beginning theory of music by learning to play piano (or another instrument) by studying the GLEs included below.

The following general school supplies may be used to aid in and supplement meeting the student's learning goals and objectives for the school year: pencils, pens, crayons, markers, colored pencils, rulers, student scissors, erasers, index cards, paper, glue, glue sticks, adhesive, art paper, folders, binders, spiral notebooks, student planner books, white-out, dry erase markers, dry erase erasers, chalk, paper clips, brads, tape, pencil boxes, protractors, compasses, etc.


LEARNING GOALS/PERFORMANCE OBJECTIVES:
Functioning GRADE GLEs: Please click only on appropriate ones. IF STUDENT IS DOING MUSIC, BE SURE TO CLICK ON ARTS- MUSIC, save the GLEs, and then add Visual Arts GLEs, and “SAVE” after each set.

LEARNING ACTIVITIES:
The student will learn to identify and use basic art skills and techniques throughout the year, as described in the GLEs below. Art projects with paper, clay, paint, and holiday projects will be completed. The student will experience creating with art materials weekly, and sometimes daily. Home-Link on-site enrichment classes run Oct.-Dec. and March-May and will be supervised by the HQ teacher on-site.

(IF STUDENT IS TAKING MUSIC LESSONS or ART LESSONS: If this is a CBI to be paid by Loon Lake, be sure to complete CBI paperwork in advance with the Home-Link office.)

Add this into learning plan if pursuing lessons:

The student will start weekly lessons in (TYPE OF LESSONS) with (LIST INSTRUCTOR’S NAME) in (list month). This will include daily practice OF ___minutes ____days per week. The student will participate in playing for others, such as for the family, friends, or possibly a recital at the end of the term.

PROGRESS CRITERIA/METHODS OF EVALUATION:

Art projects will be evaluated at completion each month.

Student progress will be evaluated by projects completed and skills learned.

Music lessons will be evaluated by the parent while attending lessons, the instructor AND the Home-Link consultant (& HQ teacher), who will communicate with the instructor regularly throughout the month.

If a recital is part of the lesson experience, add the following: The student will demonstrate progress in weekly lessons and at the end of term recital via performance.
